Foot measurement
Evening is the best time to measure children's feet: after a day of exercise, the foot is more stretched out and the measurement is more accurate.
How to measure correctly:
- Place your foot on a sheet of paper and draw a line from your heel to the tip of your big toe: this is the actual length.
- Add 1.2–1.5 cm to the measurement obtained: this is the space needed for the natural movement of the foot.
- Make a strip of cardboard that length (about two fingers wide) and insert it into the shoe: if it fits without forcing, the size is correct.
Repeat the measurement every 3–4 months: children's feet grow on average about 3 mm per month. Always check that the big toe does not touch the inside of the shoe.
